Ensuring Hydrogen Fuel Purity

Leveraging our state-of-the-art laboratory, we will offer comprehensive hydrogen fuel testing services to guarantee that hydrogen samples adhere to established quality standards. Our unwavering commitment to harmonizing with the directives of the International Organization of Standards (ISO)  ensures that our testing procedures meet the highest international benchmarks.

Unparalleled Testing Methodology

All hydrogen tests conducted by Big Sky Hydrogen will comply with the rigorous standards outlined in ISO 14687, the international standard for hydrogen fuel quality. Our superior testing methodology employs a combination of advanced techniques, including Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, Optical Feedback Cavity (OFC)-enhanced Absorption Spectroscopy (OAS), and Gas Chromatography (GC) equipped with Thermal Coupled Detectors (TCD) and Flame Ionization Detectors (FID). This synergistic approach enables us to accurately quantify the various components of hydrogen gas samples.

Comprehensive Hydrogen Fuel Analysis

We are dedicated to providing comprehensive hydrogen fuel analysis for a wide range of applications, including:

  • Type I Gaseous hydrogen for combustion engines (Grades A, B, C)
  • Type I Gaseous hydrogen for PEM fuel cell road vehicles (Grades D, E)
  • Type II Liquid Hydrogen for aircraft and off-road propulsion (Grade C)
  • Type ll Liquid Hydrogen for PEM fuel cells (Grade D)

We are committed to offering the most competitive rates in the industry for the analysis of the following components in hydrogen fuel:

  • Hydrogen
  • Total non-hydrogen gases
  • Total Hydrocarbon
  • Water
  • Methane
  • Oxygen
  • Helium
  • Nitrogen
  • Argon
  • Carbon Dioxide
  • Carbon Monoxide
  • Total sulfur compounds
  • Formaldehyde
  • Formic acid
  • Ammonia
  • Halogenated compounds
  • Maximum particulates\

The impurities, often introduced during the production process, can pose significant challenges for hydrogen fuel utilization in combustion engines and PEM fuel cells. Our rigorous analysis procedures ensure that these impurities are identified and quantified accurately.
